Can I replace a home theater system's satellite speaker?

Question by Jago: Can I replace a home theater system’s satellite speaker?
Unfortunately, one of my mother’s satellite speakers on her Jensen JHT525 5.1 theater system has static in its sound. I tried the speaker on all the channels to confirm that it is indeed the speaker and not the cables, making me believe that the voice coil is blown. Is it possible to buy the same satellite speaker? So far the only way I can do it is to buy the same system again and use one of its satellites, but then my mom will be stuck with an extra 4.1 system she really doesn’t need. If that’s the only way, oh well. Thanks, and happy holidays!!

i bet you could call the company and see if its protected under any warranty..and if its not, well just pay for the one new speaker, or for its repair.

Q&A: What kind of Subwoofer should I replace for my Samsung Home Theater subwoofer?

Question by : What kind of Subwoofer should I replace for my Samsung Home Theater subwoofer?
I just got a Samsung Home Theater System (Model:HT-C500). Everything is great, but except the subwoofer. It sounds poorly and it sounds so flabby. I was wondering what kind of subwoofer should I replace the one that came with sound system?

Answer by Brad/Diana B
There are NO suitable subwoofers to use for any of these HTIB systtems. They do not put off enough power to fully meet the requirements of a real quality subwoofer. The wiring on a real subwoofer requires correct polarity and balance that cannot be provided by the smaller amps on a HTIB system. Sorry.
