You’d be better off just selling the Samsung system all together and starting over. The components that system uses are cheap and really weren’t designed to be upgraded. The amp wouldn’t be capable of driving a half decent set of speakers and if you upgraded the amp, your samsung speakers would still sound like crap.

If you are on a budget, I recommend getting a Onkyo or Yamaha receiver as they make really good equipment for the money.

Here is a Yamaha for around $270- http://www.amazon.com/Yamaha-RX-V463BL-5-1-Channel-Theater-Receiver/dp/B0013ZGOXS/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1244873020&sr=8-2

And for speakers, I would recommend this Polk Audio 5.1 speaker package for a little over $200- http://www.amazon.com/Polk-Audio-Channel-Theater-Speaker/dp/B0002WTK4S/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1244873123&sr=1-1

Everything together would cost just a little over $500 shipped, and you would have a system that sounds 10 times better than your current Samsung system.
