Q&A: What is a good home theater system for my HDTV?

Posted in General with tags , , , , on September 27, 2010 by unlimitedtechsupport

Question by Danny: What is a good home theater system for my HDTV?
I have a Plasma Screen Samsung HDTV, and I want a great home theater system to go along with it. I only need the speakers, I already have a Bluray player. I would prefer if the speakers were standing, not wall mounted. Any suggestions?

What is a good wattage I should look for in a home theater system?

Posted in General with tags , , , , , , on August 19, 2010 by unlimitedtechsupport

Question by jennnnn: What is a good wattage I should look for in a home theater system?
I want to buy my mom some speakers to hook up to her TV for Christmas because she can barely hear her tv right now, the volume on the tv itself is just very blah. We can have it turned clear up and still barely hear it.

So what should I look for in a home system then? Not something too expensive but I don’t want it to be cheap sound quality either. I’m not quite sure what amount of wattage I should look for and what not. Any recommendations?
I am also having a hard time finding a system that doesn’t come with a DVD player; my mom already has a DVD player I am just looking for some good speakers to amplify her TV sound so she can finally hear it.

just for normal home use i would recommend a home theatree/srround sound system with aout 300-400 watts capacity.

as an alternative (since it doesnot sound that you have like a big/hdtv/plasma TV) you can also buy those shelf systems, they come with 1 unit as a recievr with 2 speakers (and sometimes a woofer too)

just make sure that if you buy the shelf systems that the reciever has an Audio input (many systems usually come with that nowadays)

What is a good home theater system for Projector?

Question by atanasgagov: What is a good home theater system for Projector?
I have a Projector not a TV. I am looking for a home theater system but I have problem canfiguring the speakers position, because my front speakers will be on the back……

Best answer:

Answer by alex n
just because the projector is behind u dosnt mean the speakers are at the back, the image projected will be the same as a tv infront of u, im presuming u are doing this through an amp, just follow the amps setup and it will callibrate it for u i.e front left front right, surround left, surround right and finally subwoofer thats if your going for a 5.1 set if you get a 7.1 it will also set up the surround back speakers or speaker if 6.1, better amps wil include a setup mic.
as for whats best it all depends on budget and room size, if you let me know i can answer better xx

The only way to be sure you will like them is to listen to them. If you have a friend with a system you like, then go with that. Or go to an audio / video store and listen to what they have and decide.

If you go to a high end-audio store and listen to their demos in a specially constructed sound room you will learn what really good audio sounds like and you will want that… but the prices will be astronomical (but it’s still fun to do). And if you wind up buying at a Box Store (Wal-Mart, Target, etc.) make sure they will give you your money back if you don’t like the sound quality when you get home and set it up.

Q&A: Is Samsung a good home theater system brand?

Posted in General with tags , , , , , on August 8, 2010 by unlimitedtechsupport

Question by Ryan: Is Samsung a good home theater system brand?
I’m thinking about getting a wireless home theater system, with Blu-ray. I don’t want to buy a separate system. I was just wondering if Samsung makes a high-quality sound system, so i don’t have to live with another “bad” sound system and have to return it.

Answer by Robert W
It depends on what you want to pay. If you want a thearte in a box, Samsung or Sony would be fine. But if you want top of the line, you need to buy an amp, speakers and blu ray seperately.

Hi all, I am planning to buy a decent home theater with ease of setup / good quality for sounds and good dvd player. I was looking up web and seems bose 321 is a good system. Price is not an issue. Bose is crap, all marketing, no quality. Go to a store a listen to some systems and make your choice, don’t rely on advertising or random opinions online – like mine.
