Weather or not there is would be a moot point, because wireless speakers are a tremendously bad idea!
1) If the speakers ARE truly wireless, then you need to constantly feed batteries to each speaker to power the individual amplifiers, at GREAT eventual cost to you!
2) If they are externally powered, then they need to be plugged in, so there goes your “completely wireless” system to begin with.
3) Have you ever talked on a cordless phone while walking through the house, only to find the 1 spot where the sound quality dropped dramatically? Well, wireless speakers run on the same frequencies and the more signals you flood your house with, the more likely you are to create frequency interference, thus, poor sound quality.
4) Wireless signals are normally frequency clipped (highs and lows eliminated) to save bandwidth, which makes for a very efficient transmission of signals, but very poor audio quality……

I could go on and on. but the simple answer is, I am sure there are “completely wireless home theater systems” out there, but you will NOT be pleased with them, even the BEST quality system will be inferior to a moderate quality wired system!

Hope this helps you make a decision!
Josh W.

My home theater speakers pick up the radio in the background, are there ways of preventing this?

Question by mercenary_xd: My home theater speakers pick up the radio in the background, are there ways of preventing this?
When the speakers are on, you can hear the radio, but its not connected to any radio reciever, just the DVD player and the subwoofer, this is a Coby home theater system, with dvd player, a sub and two speakers. It works well, just has the radio background which is annoying. I’ve looked for answers but cannot find anything exactly with what I need. Can anybody help me?

My guess is that the speakers themselves are either wired to the system wrong, or wired within the speakers wrong.

Q&A: is there a difference between home theatre and surround sound systems?

Answer by Rameesh
No major difference.
Popular Home Theater systems/Surround Sound systems contains 5 speakers and 1 sub woofer (a.k.a. 5.1) or higher configurations like 6.1, 7.1
(Configuration starts from 2.1 to 3.1, 4.1, 5.1, 6.1, 7.1, etc…)
And speaker arrangements are L, R, RL, RR, C, Woofer or more.

The term “Surround Sound” means sound reproduced in all dynamic environment.
Some major surround sound formats are originates from Dolby Digital, DTS, etc…

What is the best home theater system out there to buy based on the 5.1 TRUE sound?

Posted in General with tags , , , , , , , on August 2, 2010 by unlimitedtechsupport

Question by Jeff C: What is the best home theater system out there to buy based on the 5.1 TRUE sound?
I currently have the Bose 3-2-1 system and I really want to upgrade to a true surround sound rather than a simulated one, like the one I have now.

I have been considering a Sony Dream System, or one of the Bose Lifestyle 28 or 38 systems. I don’t need to store any music or anything, so I don’t really care about that or I don’t think that I would need a 48, but they seem way overpriced at Bose, that is why I think the Sony would be the better option.

I don’t have a giant room, but I would like a pretty durable, quality powerful system. Any suggestions?

Answer by nuteddyboy
it is a good question and when i have considered myself . to me all Sony equipment has a certain sound , like pioneer equipment does .

i do not care for the Sony sound , i think Bose for home theater , is a better sound and look , but as you say it is expensive , but with Bose you will probably be happy with it for a long time .

i personally like Yamaha for home theater , but i like the way the Bose system fits in with the decor , most home theater systems intrude into the room .

I recently reconnected my DVD home theater system after a move and now there is no sound from the speakers!!?

Question by Nick P: I recently reconnected my DVD home theater system after a move and now there is no sound from the speakers!!?
Panasonic DVD home theater system. I connected the speakers to the woofer and played it. It sounded OK except there was no sound from the two ‘surround’ speakers and the center speaker. I rechecked and found that I had not connected the center speaker at all and in it’s place had connected one of the ‘surround’ speakers. played it again and there was no sound from the speakers at all. Just a faint muffled one from the woofer! I hope I did not short and burn the speakers, though it is unlikely. I reched the +s and – s and they seem fine.

Is there any way a regular home stereo can act as a receiver for a home theater system?

Posted in General with tags , , , , , , on August 2, 2010 by unlimitedtechsupport

Question by Jeef: Is there any way a regular home stereo can act as a receiver for a home theater system?
I have a Craig shelf system with a 3CD changer and an AM/FM tuner. It has two matching speakers that attach to the back with a red and black wire for each. As you can tell, I know nothing when it comes to audio systems. What I’m wondering is if I can use this stereo as a receiver and just buy the speakers rather than the entire home theater system, seeing as how the receiver is the most expensive part.

Thanks

You can not make a stereo system into a Surround sound system, they don’t have the decoder to decode the Dolby surround sound or the DTS. You’ll have to invest in a new receiver that has the decoder. Pioneer and Onkyo and very good receiver that don’t cost you an arm and leg (from 9). Hope that this will help you out.

Are there any Home Theater Systems that come with a recordable dvd player?

Question by xbox man: Are there any Home Theater Systems that come with a recordable dvd player?

Best answer:

Answer by Maniac
The best answer is to avoid “systems” or the so called HTiB (Home Theatre in a Box) and buy a real system. That is buy the parts individually…a receiver, speakers, DVD player/recorder etc. You can put together a much more customized better quality system this way than you can with any HTiB. You get only the things you need and you don’t have to buy the things you don’t need. You can have a DVD recorder or what ever you want!

Actually, there is a complete system out there for me. It is the Philips Digital DVD Home Theater System (HTS6500). Thank you for your answers!

Just invest in a good home theater system and add either a
HD DVD player (or Xbox 360) or a Blu-Ray Disc player (you
can get a PS3 to do this job too). Just browse the internet
stores online. Here’s some websites to help you search…

Q&A: are there any home theater systems with 2 HDMI in's?

Posted in General with tags , , , , , on August 2, 2010 by unlimitedtechsupport

Question by The Sin: are there any home theater systems with 2 HDMI in’s?
I’m looking for a decent home theater system that has 2 HDMI pass throughs. I have a sony system in my living room, but i don’t want to spend another 0. just looking for a simple setup for my bedroom, and i really like the HDMI ins.

Best answer:

Answer by Peter D
Sure there are, but why do you prefer pass through? I assume because it’s less expensive. Onkyo has the HT-S5100 which does passthrough. Newegg has it for 9.99 with no tax or shipping charges.
