Anyone know of an affordable home theater system with wireless rear speakers?

Question by andrewfiero: Anyone know of an affordable home theater system with wireless rear speakers?
Long story short, I’m looking for a surround sound system with wireless rear speakers because I lease an apartment and don’t want to drill holes to hide the wiring from the front to the back of the room.

I know of some systems that have wireless rear speakers, but the cheapest one I’ve seen was a BOSE system for ,499 which is a bit much for an apartment. I don’t need it to be that powerful. I’ve got other tenants to contend with.

Any suggestions would be great.

Can anyone tell me whether I can use speakers of a home theater system to hook up with regular receivers?

Question by aimeymays3311: Can anyone tell me whether I can use speakers of a home theater system to hook up with regular receivers?
Speakers plus dvd player in a package like Pioneer HTS-950NXT – Home theater system cost less than a pair of good quality speakers. I have good main speakers. Just want to have speakers as Presence speakers for a Yamama system and want an extra subwoofer as an add-on to the main speaker and two surround speakers or surround back speakers. Thx

I have an HTIB system. It came with 5.1. Sounds good for HTIB too. I also have a 12″ Cerwin-Vega 4ohm (enclosed, for car use) hooked up to the subwoofer outlet (parallel) with the other HTIB woofer. They both work fine, producing good bass. The same can be done with the other speakers, if I so desired. The downfall is this, the more speakers connected, the hotter the system’s amplifier will get, as it is using more power to generate sound. If your main system has the proper amperage output, hook your speakers up. Enjoy the sounds. But, keep track of heat generated, as this is a good “feel” gauge on the power consumption of the system’s amplifier.

Well… You can start with using the audio calibration microphone but it would take a minute to explain how to use it.

Typically it can cost a few hundred bucks to hire some one for setup and calibration but if you would like more details on a DIY, then just send me an e-mail.

I have owned a home theater business.

Good luck

Q&A: Does anyone know where you can input the components of a home theater system and get wiring diagrams?

Question by John S: Does anyone know where you can input the components of a home theater system and get wiring diagrams?
Specifically I would like to see how to connect a DVR, Sony Receiver, DVD player, Sony Bravia television, a wii, and a PS2. From what I can see only the television has HDMI hookups the rest are either component or RCA plugs.

Best answer:

Answer by Brad/Diana B
Your receiver should come with a suggested connection diagram. The first thing you want to assess his how many HDMI and Component connections the receiver has, nevermind the number of HDMI and Component on TVs, For the purpose of sound, you want to connect as many of these to the receiver as possible. For more specific help, send me the model numbers of your receiver and TV, and let me know what kinds of connections your DVR(HDMI, COMPONENT) has as well and if the Wii has HDMI or component. I will get back to you by Tuesday…contact me at beaupain@comcast.net

Can anyone recommend me a good home theater system?

Posted in General with tags , , , , , on August 2, 2010 by unlimitedtechsupport

Question by Allen H: Can anyone recommend me a good home theater system?
I have a room that is 12 x 11. I prefer wireless. I want a system with an upconverting DVD player. The home theater reciever needs to have an optical audio input. I want a home theater in a box.

Best answer:

Answer by Miguel35
On the one hand you want a good system. On the other hand you want a wireless home theater in a box. Well, which is it?

Edit: Bose systems do not connect like other systems so unless the wireless adaptor was made especially for Bose it won’t work right.

Does anyone have a review for either JWIN or Norcent home theater systems ?

Question by DEBORAH S: Does anyone have a review for either JWIN or Norcent home theater systems ?

Best answer:

Answer by AWolf
I don’t think you’ll find professional reviews for an “inexpensive” “home theater system” like these two brands. I found nothing for JWIN, but did find some customer reviews at Epinions.com and Amazon.com, if these will do you any good.

I have not heard of them? Do you have a web site to look at. Where did you see them?

With any system make sure it have the inputs and outputs you want and carefully listen to it against several other systems, the one you prefer will stand out.
