Question by J.: How can I get my Panasonic Home Theater System to give surround sound when only watching TV?
I just recently purchased a Panasonic TH-50PX75U Plasma and the Panasonic SC-PT650 Home Theater System. I didn’t want to pay for the installation so we did it on our own. The only problem e have encountered is we can not get the surround sound to work when just watching cable or playing video games. It only works when using the DVD player. Is there a way to make it work?
Will these answeres provide surround sound when using Nintendo Wii?

Yes there is – you need to connect the “audio outputs” from the TV to an unused input on your home theater unit using a pair of standard RCA red/white cables. There probably is an input on the home theater unit that is labeled “TV”.

If the TV does not have digital audio output, just connect it the way I described. It will work. Surround sound is overrated anyway.

What can I buy to turn a old home theater system into a wireless home theater system without give up sound?

Question by Phillip R: What can I buy to turn a old home theater system into a wireless home theater system without give up sound?
I just bought a new receiver about a year or two ago and it does not have wireless capability. I know there are things out on the market that can fix this, BUT I just don’t know which is the best for sound quality without giving up a fortune.
What about just trying to get the rear speaker wireless?

No real solution for wireless all around. You would need wireless speakers and transmitters on 5 or 6 different channels. Wireless speakers are expensive because each one has to have a transmitter, receiver and amplifier for each channel. Even the best wireless speakers can’t come close in quality to many very modestly priced wired speakers. The other thing to consider is that you would be wasting the amplifier that is in your receiver

Will cheap home theatre systems give me sound?

Question by michael: Will cheap home theatre systems give me sound?
I have a 32in. LCD tv whose sound no longer works. I can’t find a place to get it fixed.
I was wondering if I bought a cheap all in one 2.1 channel home theater system could it then be used to watch over the air free television with sound.
Like could I somehow connected the TV antenna to the dvd played and use the home theater speakers to watch tv?

You should be able to connect any system by running cables through the audio out on you TV.You might ant to look at a sound bar. They are reasonably priced and are a vast improvement over the internal speakers that no longer work.
