I have a RCA HD TV, SV 2000 digital dvd/vcr player,Apex digital home theater system, directv cable box, and a Liteon dvd recorder. I have not been able to connect them since I got them a year ago.I was told I had to buy a dvd recorder in order to record movies I watched on cable because the SV 2000 was just for playing.Can you tell me,(the absolutely not technically inclined person) in simple terms how to connect these componants? There are too many ways to hook up your equipment, and too much information left out in your question. Explaining them all would make it too confusing.

First of all, how many inputs are there on the back of your TV, and what kind of inputs are they? (HDMI, Components, Composites). Do you have a high def DVR, and does it have an HDMI or component output? Does your DVR have more than one output? If so, what kind of outputs does it use? (Components, Composites?)

Your best bet is to ask your neighbor’s geeky kid to install it for you.
