Question by reckintex: My Durabrand home theater system subwoofer just stopped working, how can I fix it?
I bought a Durabrand system from Walmart a while back and I have had no problems with it but all of a sudden it just stopped bassin and the subwoofer does not work anymore. I went and smacked the top of it when I noticed it wasnt working and it worked fine until the next day and now I can not get it to turn back on. I checked all of the wires but nothing is unplugged. what else can I do besides buy a new one?

Doesn’t sound like Durabrand is very Dura-ble (you get what you pay for). You might look for some kind of fuse holder on the unit somewhere for a blown fuse. But, if you experienced intermittent operation earlier when you smacked it, I would say you’re probably looking at an internal loose or broken connection somewhere, either in the audio or power circuits (if it’s a powered subwoofer).
