Connecting Multimedia Subwoofer with Home theater?

Question by pnywize602: Connecting Multimedia Subwoofer with Home theater?
I got a Klipsch ProMedia Ultra 5.1 System subwoofer and the control module. I was wondering if anybody knew if I was able to connect it to my Home theater system? I have a Sony 5.1 channel reciever. The back of the subwoofer has mini plugs to connect it to your computers media card and also the jacks for the satellite speakers. Any help would be great!

If your Sony Amp/Receiver is anything like mine then it should have 5 Pre Out RCA sockets on the back, which are designed for sending unamplified sound to another amplifier to do the job instead.
So you should find that if you have three(?) mini-jack input sockets on the surround system, you can connect three cables, each of them would need mini-jack one end and two standard RCA phono the other.
But if you have a Sony 5.1 Receiver surely you’d get MUCH better sound from it and separate speakers, anyway?
